“Unbeatable Value” Name of the Game in Three-Day Car Auction Run

Park Village Auctions has announced three days of year-end savings as ABSA-
repossessed vehicles go under the hammer nationwide.
Clive Lazars of PVA says that relatively low-mileage used cars and pre-approved
finance available at each online auction cater directly to the needs of a value-hungry
“The demand for good quality second-hand vehicles has significantly increased as
consumers navigate the ongoing pressures on income and cost of living,” says Clive.
The latest car sales statistics concur, with naamsa recording the third consecutive
month of decline in the new vehicle market while used vehicle pricing shifted to 9.8%
in Q2 2023, up from 8.3% in Q2 2022, according to the TransUnion VPI report.
Interestingly, the TransUnion VPI report also revealed that three-year-old vehicles
saw the largest increases for used cars at a 17% YoY. Clive says the figures indicate
that consumers are not opposed to purchasing newer wheels but are showing
greater discernment.
Clive: “Fortunately, this is where auctions promise the greatest value for money.
Most bank-repossessed vehicles have relatively low mileage and service plans that
are still intact. Newer vehicles are generally more fuel efficient, too, so buyers enjoy
more savings over the vehicle’s lifespan.”
The ABSA repossessed vehicle auctions will take place online at 10 am on Tuesday,
5, Wednesday, 6 and Thursday, 7 December.
