Premium Restaurant Assets and Designer Fashion Head to Auction

Park Village Auctions (PVA) has received instructions to dispose of assets belonging to Zaki Food Holdings, trading as Just Teddy Restaurant, Hyde Park Corner, and S Surtee Esquire (Pty) Ltd. Both entities are currently in liquidation.

The sale of high-end equipment and luxury apparel constitutes a bonanza for South African restaurateurs and retailers.

Catering, cooking, and heating equipment includes gas stoves, electric and modular deck ovens, and industrial toasters. Bakery and food preparation assets comprise a spiral dough mixer, a vertical dough sheeter, and a proofer oven. Refrigeration assets include chest freezers, undercounter fridges, and specialised cake display units. Service and display equipment, such as a Nuova Simonelli coffee machine, stainless-steel plate warmers, and assorted cutlery, will also be sold.

These items, along with furniture and shelving, will be brought to market via a timed online auction. The auction commences at 10:00 on Tuesday, 12 May, and concludes at 10:00 on Tuesday, 19 May.

“Just Teddy is a household name synonymous with quality. This auction offers a rare chance for hospitality players to acquire top-tier, specialised bakery and catering equipment that is often difficult to source at these prices,” says PVA’s Clive Lazarus.

Simultaneously, retailers are invited to submit offers for large quantities of designer-label clothing. Featured brands include Hugo Boss, Grays, Police, Sacoor Brothers, Hackett, and several other premium labels. The deadline for offer submissions is 14:00 on Tuesday, 19 May.

Lazarus adds: “The sheer volume of authentic, designer labels available is unprecedented for a liquidation sale. For boutique owners and independent retailers, this is a prime opportunity to bolster their inventory with high-demand international brands.”
