Park Village Auctions is inviting offers on a “massive” biomass wood pellet
manufacturing plant and fixed property in Sabie, Mpumalanga.
The sale falls under the auspices of PVA’s business rescue division, which
specialises in selling businesses experiencing difficulties. In most cases, businesses
sold under this banner simply need a capital injection or restructuring to continue
operating and therefore represent a great opportunity for investors, says PVA’s
Andrew Dix-Peek.
The sale comprises movable and immovable assets to be “sold separately or as a
combination lot”.
The fixed property, number 4 Patula Avenue, Sabie (PTN 0 of ERF 1491 Sabie Ext
5), measures 12,967 square metres. Improvements include a purpose-built wood
pellet manufacturing plant with a raw material bunker storage area for storage of
wood chips and sawdust; a material drying plant, a manufacturing plant, silo storage
and distribution. Other notable improvements comprise office buildings and a
workshop.
Moveable assets are made up of a complete Buhler wood pellet plant with ancillary
equipment and pellet moulds; a Brunette BioSizer 4052-R with a high-speed
secondary grinder for products size consistency; bulk storage comprising three
hopper-type and one top feeder galvanised steel silos as a single lot; a Komatsu
Diesel generator 1000KVA (Genset Model: EGS1200); a structurally-fixed hydraulic
moving floor with vibrating screen and auger feeder; conveyors (approximately 70m
long); a boiler; a blower, dryer and final sorting equipment; a Boge Air compressor
10 Bar (700 l/min) with filter system and small dryer; and a Morillon Centrale Hydro
400L.
“Biomass energy is a sustainable way to generate heat, which is a critical need in the
commercial and residential sectors,” notes Andrew. He concludes, “Considering our
energy crisis and growing ESG demands, the plant holds the potential to plug a
significant gap in the market.
Offers must be submitted in writing to Park Village Auctions no later than midday
(12h00) on Friday, the 28 th of October. Viewing of the assets can be arranged by
appointment via PVA.
