Offers Invited: Aerospatiale SA341G Gazelle

Park Village Auctions is inviting offers on a 1973 SA341G Gazelle by manufacturer Aerospatiale (now Airbus Helicopters). That’s the word from PVA’s Keith Green, who says that the Gazelle (Registration ZU-RLU), deeply rooted in history and highly versatile, will appeal to many buyers, from private aviation enthusiasts to flying schools and film producers.

Green: “The SA 341G Gazelle holds a deep nostalgic appeal to many aviators, who will be pleased to know the 1973 aircraft has been relatively well-maintained and has a reasonable number of flight hours.

“However, the Gazelle is not solely a nostalgic purchase. Its versatility, performance, and modern avionics make it a practical and capable aircraft that can still be used for various purposes.

“The standard passenger configuration with high skids is a common setup for the Gazelle, making it versatile beyond recreational flying. Its distinctive appearance and manoeuvrability make it a popular choice for aerial filming. Its relatively small size and ease of handling are ideal for flight training. Finally, its ability to take on various payloads means it also lends itself to ariel work such as crop dusting, surveying, search, and even rescue missions. The presence of a Garmin G3X EFIS and integrated nav/com system enhances situational awareness and safety, thus adding to its appeal.”
